Dysport in Chicago, IL
What is Dysport®?
Dysport® is a neuromodulator similar to BOTOX® but with a slightly different formulation. It spreads more easily, making it ideal for larger treatment areas such as the forehead. Dysport® temporarily relaxes muscles to smooth out dynamic wrinkles like frown lines and crow’s feet.
Who is a Candidate for Dysport®?
Dysport® may be a great option if you:
- Want to reduce fine lines and wrinkles on your forehead or around your eyes
- Are looking for faster results compared to BOTOX®
- Want a natural-looking, smooth finish
- Have dynamic wrinkles that are deep and more difficult to treat
How is Dysport® Administered?
Dysport® is injected into specific facial muscles to temporarily block nerve signals, relaxing the muscles and reducing wrinkles. Treatment takes about 15-30 minutes, with no downtime. Patients can expect results to last 3-4 months.
Dr. Tulsi Kotecha's Take
At Refine by Tulsi, we rarely use Dysport as a neuromodulator for wrinkle treatment. While Dysport can be effective for relaxing facial muscles, Dr. Kotecha prefers using Botox and Xeomin due to their consistent, precise results and versatility across different facial areas. Additionally, Dysport tends to spread more easily, which can be beneficial in certain cases, but we prioritize control and accuracy in our treatments to ensure the most natural and customized outcomes for each patient.

Botox vs Dysport Unit Conversion
When comparing Botox and Dysport, one key difference lies in the number of units required. Dysport units are typically measured differently than Botox units, meaning that it often takes more Dysport units to achieve the same effect as Botox. For example, 1 unit of Botox is roughly equivalent to 2.5 to 3 units of Dysport. This difference in dosage doesn’t impact the effectiveness of the treatment but is important to consider when discussing cost and treatment plans with your provider.
